YEAR ONE INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH STUDIES
Research Topic: Relationship
Chosen Area of Focus: It is the factors affecting the bonding between dogs and teenagers
Framing our research topic
Our chosen area of focus is to research on the factors affecting the bond between dogs and teenagers. We have chosen this topic as most of us like or knows about dogs. Most people buy dogs out of impulsivity and we want to try to stop it.
Reasons for choice of topic
We have chosen this topic, as we want to find out more about the what is affecting the bond between teenagers and dogs.
This allows us to fulfil the requirements of the project task as the it looks at how strong the bonds of teenagers and dogs from a good and bad point of view. There is a need for our research as abusing dogs is not civilized and almost 3000 dogs are abandoned every year. It is most likely because they have no time to take care of the dogs or have no interest in them anymore. Every day, 1,500 stray dogs are in need of homes. Singapore’s largest dog adoption drive was organised earlier this month by the National Geographic Channel. Animal shelters reported a 35 per cent rise in adoptions of strays last year too.
Feasibility of the research
We will be doing this topic as it is not very hard to interview as there are many dog owners or dog lovers or any other people out there for us to interview.
Manageability of the research
It is manageable as we find the topic interesting so it will gain attention from many people.
Accessibility of the information required
The information would not be difficult to get as people many people are dog lovers and dog owners.
